Hope after Porn in our Marriage

Hope after Porn in our Marriage

Pornography, Resources
A personal testimony submitted by an NRC memberShortly after we were married, I discovered porn on the computer that shattered my world.  The adrenaline kicked in, I started shaking in disbelief and anger; then I was left feeling alone and trapped in a relationship that I had not signed up for.  Maybe we should use an internet filter, but, I reasoned, he didn’t really need a filter, he said he was sorry and wouldn’t do it again.  But, as addictions do, it kept resurfacing, and there was an unspoken tension about how to approach this issue in our marriage.  He certainly wasn’t taking initiative to install a filter on his phone and I didn’t know how far to push.  We were also overwhelmed by the different options out there and how…

Sexual Abuse after Viewing Porn

Sexual Abuse after Viewing Porn

Hazards, Pornography
The rate of children sexually abusing other children has sharply increased over the past few years and can be attributed to our society’s consumption of pornography.  We desperately need to deal with the pornography plague in our families, churches, schools, and communities.  “I have said this before, and I will say it again: If we as a culture do not address the pornography problem, it will destroy us. The violent sexual ideology it is teaching to an entire generation is transforming the way millions of people see sex, relationships, and even each other. Pornography is ruining marriages, ruining families, and ruining lives. It is long past time that we woke up and realized that we simply have no choice: We must deal with this, because it is everywhere.” Jonathon van…

The Other Pandemic has Exploded

The Other Pandemic has Exploded

Hazards
The Modern Media Committee of Lethbridge recently posted a disturbing article about the increase use of pornography in relation to the COVID-19 epidemic.  On March 13, a popular porn site announced they were giving users in Italy free access with subscriber privileges to their content. Then they did the same with France and Spain. Italy’s porn downloads shot up 57%, France’s 38%, and Spain’s 61%. Their traffic from Europe, Canada, and the US have steadily climbed this month. On March 17 this same site announced that worldwide porn downloads were up 26.4%. In just one month. To put this in perspective, their 2019 Year in Review revealed that the site was visited 42 billion times in 2019—that’s 115 million searches a day. Remember, this is from just one site; there are thousands…
